Dr. Turnbull is a chemist, based in the Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry group at the University of Leeds. Bruce specialises in carbohydrate chemistry and his research interests lie in the chemistry of glycobiology, studying carbohydrate binding proteins which are essential for many biological processes but also play an important role in medicine, such as in bacterial infections, cancer metastasis and bacterial toxin uptake.
